New This Week

If you are a poppy lover ,here is another beautiful one to have. She is called "Sugar Plum" and is as sweet as her name hints at.A definite "girlie girl"poppy for our Spring gardens. She gets 3-4',full sun and needs to be planted soon to get all her glory.

This little cutie is a California native that is found in grasslands or meadow areas. It produces lots of 1" blossoms, survives with low water and does prefer part sun and it is an annual that does reseed readily for next season. And I know most of you out there prefer not to have orange in your spring gardens but a little dash of orange does amazing things to add a bit of zip.Try it!

I love Clarkias! They are so pretty and easy and natives. This one is Clarkia purpurea quadrivulnera "Four spotted purple Clarkia".That is quite a mouth full I would say.She is found mainly in grassland areas and does adapt well to our sunny English style gardens we've found out .The flowers are 1/4 to1/2" and quite profuse. They do have a spot on each petal if you look closely. She is an annual that will reseed and likes sun, about 18" tall  to 24",and pretty the way she weaves herself through the garden.
